Women's Soccer Loses to Lehman

BRONX, N.Y.— The John Jay women's soccer team lost on the road Saturday afternoon, losing to Lehman College 2-0 at South Field.
 
The loss leaves the Bloodhounds at 4-10 (2-3 CUNYAC) this season.
 
John Jay outshot the host Lightning 15-6 overall and 4-3 in shots on goal, but the Bloodhounds could not put the ball in the net.
 
After a 0-0 halftime score, Lehman broke the ice with a goal at 65:11 by Valeria Benalcazar. Then the Lightning scored again at 86:28 on a goal by Tiffany Altamirano.
 
John Jay held a 9-1 edge on corner kicks taken.
 
John Jay's Bergelie Louis took a game-high four shots, while Angie Ocampo took three, two of which were on net.
 
Andrea Antoni played goalkeeper for the Bloodhounds and made one save in the contest, while Melanie Varillas stopped four shots for Lehman.
 
John Jay returns to action on Wednesday Oct. 17 against the City College of New York at 3 p.m.
