Tatiana Ambarsom Named CUNYAC Rookie of the Week

New York, N.Y. – The City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) announced that John Jay women's soccer player, Tatiana Ambarsom (Queens, NY, Garden School) has been named its Rookie of the Week for the week ending Oct. 21.

Ambarsom had a memorable game on Saturday, October 20. The Queens native scored two goals which helped the Bloodhounds defeat the Brooklyn Bulldogs 2-0, earning a playoff berth into the City University of New York Athletic Conference / Applebee's women's Soccer Championship Tournament which begins on Oct. 31.

In the game, the rookie scored both goals on just four shots. Ambarsom netted her first goal 14:10 into the game with an assist coming from Samantha Guillen. The freshmen scored again at 31:32 with Bergelie Louis earning an assist.

On the season, Ambarsom has two goals with five shots on goal.

The Bloodhounds will play the top seeded team in the tournament's semifinal round on Oct. 31, either against the College of Staten Island or the City College of New York.
