DANBURY, Conn.— The John Jay men's soccer team was defeated 2-0 by Western Connecticut State University (WCSU) in a non-conference affair on Tuesday evening.
The loss snapped John Jay's three match winning streak as the Bloodhounds fell to 5-7-3 overall this season.
The Bloodhounds were outshot 24-8 overall in the contest and 16-7 in shots on goal.
The game was scoreless in the first half before the host Colonials scored a goal at 51:06 on a strike by Cole Hyla. Then at 67:33, WCSU scored again on a goal by Matthew Martin.
Steven Merino made 14 saves in goal for the Bloodhounds, who return to action on Saturday for a contest at Brooklyn College at 12 p.m.
