STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.— The John Jay women's soccer team was defeated by the College of Staten Island, 8-0, in the semifinal round of the 2012 City University of New York Athletic Conference / Applebee's women's soccer championship.
John Jay's season is tentatively over, while CSI, the No. 1 seed for the tournament, advances to the championship to play the City College of New York, 5 p.m. on Saturday.
In Thursday's loss, the Bloodhounds were outshot 39-4. CSI scored six goals in the first half to lead by a half dozen through the first forty five minutes of play.
CSI's Samantha Wysokowski netted four goals in the contest while Demi-Jean Martorano scored a pair. Gabriella Galeano and Deanna Kvetkoff also scored goals for the Dolphins.
John Jay was outshot 19-2 in the first half and 20-2 in the second half.
Samantha Guillen took two shots in the contest for the Bloodhounds, while
Daniela Molina and
Bergelie Louis had one each.
Andrea Antoni made 10 saves for John Jay.
