RESULTS
NEW YORK, N.Y.— The John Jay women's swimming team opened its 2012-13 season in grand style on Tuesday evening with a 69-26 win over conference foe Lehman College at John Jay Pool.
With the win, John Jay ups its record to 1-0 (1-0 CUNYAC) on the young season, while Lehman College is 0-3 (0-1 CUNYAC).
John Jay led start to finish en route to the victory. The Bloodhounds' team of

Samantha Jones,
Jezebel Erazo,
Mollie DeMeio opened the John Jay season by scoring a victory in the 200 yard medley relay (2:29.22). Then moments later, Erazo, simply by finishing the event, won the 1,000 freestyle (15:35.50) as the lone swimmer in the race.
The Bloodhounds earned first place finishes in all but two events on the evening, and John Jay earned a 1-2 finish in three events. In the 200 yard freestyle, Nutteda Getganipak earned a victory (2:37.29), while
Samantha Jones was second (3:09.41). Then in the 50 yard freestyle,
Vanessa Toro-Plaza blazed her way to victory (29.24), while
Diana Rodriguez was second (34.88). In the 100 yard freestyle, Toro-Plaza won again (1:09.84), while Getganipak was second (1:10.09).
John Jay also picked up wins in the 200 individual medley as
Victoria Hsieh was victorious in 2:48.32. She also scored a win in the 500 yard freestyle (6:46.88) and 100 yard breaststroke (1:22.91).
In the 200 yard freestyle relay, Toro-Plaza, DeMeio, Rodriguez and Jones teamed for a win in 2:07.89.
