The host Dolphins took the lead after scoring a victory in the opening race (200 yard medley relay), before John Jay finished first and second collectively in the 1,000 yard freestyle as
Jezebel Erazo finished second behind Hsieh's first place swim to tie the score 8-8.

John Jay took an 18-15 lead after Toro-Plaza's win in the 50 yard freestyle.
But CSI earned first and second place finishes in the next two races, the 200 yard individual medley and the 100 yard butterfly to claim a 32-20 advantage.
Hsieh won the 100 yard freestyle in the next race, but CSI picked up wins in the next three to establish a comfortable cushion to earn the win.
