Baseball Wins by Eighteen Runs over Lehman

Bronx, N.Y.— The John Jay baseball team came away with its most lopsided win of the year as the Bloodhounds broke out for a season-high 19 runs and came away with a 19-1 win over conference foe, Lehman College, in a non conference game at South Field on Monday afternoon.
 
Fresh off their seven run inning in their final at bats in Sunday's game two, the Bloodhounds ripped season-highs 19 runs and 21 hits. At least 10 different Bloodhounds had one hit each, and eight players had at least two hits, while three Bloodhounds recorded three hits.
 
Yahnny Arias had a big afternoon by going 3-for-6 with a run, a double and three runs batted in. Eddie Montanez, who was named CUNYAC's Rookie of the Week earlier in the day, continued his hot hitting with a 3-for-4 performance with two doubles, two runs and a run batted in. Cosme Munoz had his biggest game of the season with three hits, three runs and a run batted in.
 
Meanwhile Owen Kimmel, Nester Amarante, Corry Harper, Joel Cabrera and Brian McKenna had a pair of hits each. Cabrera and McKenna had two doubles each after coming in as substitutes in the latter innings.
 
After a scoreless first inning, John Jay scored at least one run in each of the next eight innings, including eight runs in the third, which gave John Jay a 10-0 advantage after three frames.
 
Harper picked up the win for the Bloodhounds. He went the distance and allowed a run on seven hits with seven strikeouts.
 
Lehman's lone run came in the bottom of the sixth on an RBI double by Socrates Peralta.
 
The Lightning used five pitchers who combined for 12 strikeouts of the John Jay hitters.
