The spring season is winding down and now it is time for the playoffs as John Jay's three remaining spring sports, baseball, softball and men's tennis are set to do battle for conference supremacy in their respective City University of New York Athletic Conference championships.
Men's Tennis:
The John Jay men's tennis team finished the 2012 regular season with a second place finish. As a result, the Bloodhounds have earned the No. 2 seed for the 2012 CUNYAC / HSS men's tennis championship. John Jay's quest for the title starts on Wednesday, April 25 as the Bloodhounds take on No. 7 seed York College in a quarterfinal round match at the USTA National Tennis Center at 3:30 p.m. If John Jay wins, the Bloodhounds advance into the semifinal round on Sunday at 1 p.m. against the winner between No. 3 Hunter College and No. 6 Brooklyn College. And if John Jay wins there, the Bloodhounds will play for the championship on Thursday, May 3 at 5 p.m.
Baseball:
The Bloodhound baseball program earned the No. 3 seed for the conference double elimination tournament. It is the eleventh consecutive season, John Jay has qualified for the tournament. John Jay's first round opponent will be defending conference champions, and No. 2 seed, College of Staten Island at MCU Park on Thursday at 4 p.m. If the Bloodhounds win that game, they advance to the winner's bracket game on Friday at 4 p.m. against the winner between No. 1 seed Baruch College and No. 4 seed Lehman College. If John Jay loses to CSI in the opening round, the Bloodhounds will play an elimination game at 1 p.m. on Friday against the loser between No. 1 seed Baruch and No. 4 seed Lehman. Friday April 27

Saturday April 28

Softball:
The John Jay softball team finished sixth in the conference regular season standings, and has earned the No. 6 seed for the CUNYAC postseason championship. The Bloodhounds will play a one game play-in game against No. 3 Baruch College on Wednesday May 2 at Randall's Island, NY field number 36. If John Jay wins that game, the Bloodhounds go to the double elimination championship tournament at the College of Staten Island Softball Complex on May 4th and 5th. John Jay's first round opponent will be the No. 2 seed (either the College of Staten Island or Hunter College) at 2 p.m. See below for tournament breakdown:
