Men’s Tennis Loses to Ramapo

Flushing, N.Y.— The John Jay men's tennis team lost to Ramapo College, 7-2, at the USTA National Tennis Center on Tuesday afternoon.
 
John Jay is now 1-3 (1-0 CUNYAC) this season, while Ramapo is 4-2.
 
The Bloodhounds two wins came at No. 1 singles and No. 5 singles. At No. 1 Erkut Cakmak remained undefeated on the season as he rolled to a 6-2, 6-2 win over Ramapo's Justin Gersti. At No.5 singles, Kelvin Rodriguez earned a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Francis Osolnick.
 
At No. 2 singles, Ramapo's Evan Clayton won 6-0, 6-2 over Luis Chirinos, while at No. 3 singles, Sam Klein of Ramapo beat Andreas Pantaloukas 6-0, 6-2. At No. 4 singles, Jacob Khodakov beat Stephen Walz 6-3, 6-1. And at No. 6 singles, it was Peter Gramlich over Frantisek Demek 6-1, 6-1.
 
In doubles, play Ramapo won at No.1 8-4, No.2 8-6 and at No. 3 8-1.
 
John Jay returns to action on Wednesday for a match against Rutgers-Newark at 5 p.m. at USTA.
