Box Score SOUTH YARMOUTH, Mass. – Colby-Sawyer College scored in the final seconds of the first half to take a 2-1 lead over John Jay College, and made the lead stand up throughout the second half in the final game of the men's bracket of the ECAC Division III Soccer Classic on the Cape.

The winning goal came off the foot of Ram Khalsa (So., Rio Vista, N.M.) who took a pass from Drew Pehoviak (Jr., Monson, Mass.) and converted a breakaway down the middle of the pitch to the lower right side of the net.

The Chargers opened the scoring in the sixth minute as Kevin Flaherty (Jr., Wilmington, Mass.) found Max Yee (So., Hookset, N.H.) for a breakaway down the middle of the field.  Yee shot to the lower left corner beating Bloodhound goalkeeper Steve Merino (Jr., Bronx, N.Y.).  Colby-Sawyer had a chance to double the lead several minutes later, but the Chargers clanged a penalty kick off the right post.

John Jay tied the game in the 31st minute as Ratko Rakocevic (Sr., Kolasin, Montenegro) scored on a scramble in front of the net off a rebound off Colby-Sawyer goalkeeper Marc-Andre Parent (Fr., South Yarmouth, Mass.).

The second half was a very physical affair with four yellow cards being distributed, three to Colby-Sawyer.  The teams were whistled for 35 total fouls in the game, with the Chargers notching 22.

Game statistics were as close as the score would indicate, with John Jay taking 16 shots to 13 for Colby-Sawyer.  Each team had eight corner kicks.  Parent had six saves for the Chargers in only his second collegiate game in the net, while Merino made four stops.
