BROOKLYN, N.Y.— The John Jay women's soccer team crushed a school record with 13 goals in one game as the Bloodhounds were all over Medgar Evers College beating the Cougars 13-0 in a game played a Aviator Field on Saturday morning.
The win keeps John Jay unbeaten in CUNYAC play as the Bloodhounds go to 2-0-0 in the conference this season.
Reigning CUNYAC Rookie of the Year,
Bergelie Louis netted five goals in the win, while first year sensation
Samantha Guillen had three.
Stephannie Rengifo had a pair of goals, while
Katelyn Davis,
Daniela Molina and
Samantha Pedraza had one each. Pedraza and Guillen also tallied three assists each in the victory.
Andrea Antoni had an easy day in net, stopping two shots, both of which were taken by Niesha Burnett.
John Jay outshot Medgar Evers 35-2 overall, including 25-0 in the first half. Guillen launched a match-high eight shots in the win, while Louis had seven and Rengifo had six.
John Jay returns to the pitch on Wednesday for a match against the City College of New York at the Metropolitan Oval at 6 p.m.
