Men's Soccer Loses to Polytechnic University of NYU

Brooklyn, N.Y.— The John Jay men's soccer team suffered a 3-0 loss on the road Saturday afternoon, losing to Polytechnic University of NYU 3-0 at Aviator Field.
 
John Jay is now 2-6-3 overall this season.
 
The host Fighting Blue Jays scored a pair of goals in the first half to go up a pair at halftime, and added a third goal in the second half for three goal shutout.
 
Polytechnic got on the board with a goal in the fifth minute off the foot of Allen Rohr on a corner kick that curved into the goal.
 
10 minutes later the Fighting Blue Jays scored again when Masato Anzai headed the ball into the net. Then late in the second half, Polytechnic got another goal when the Bloodhounds kicked the ball into its own net.
 
The Bloodhounds took 11 shots in the contest. Yotam Bloom had a team-high four in the contest, while Christ Assou took two.  Polytechnic took 19 shots and got a match-high six from Nick Michalczewski.
 
Steven Merino played goalkeeper for John Jay and made six saves.
 
John Jay is back in action on Mon. Oct. 1 for a home contest against York College at the Metropolitan Oval at 8 p.m.
