Men's Soccer Loses to Vassar in Consolation Game

GLASSBORO, N.J.— The John Jay men's soccer team was defeated by Vassar College, 5-0, in the consolation game of the Rowan University Invitational tournament on Saturday afternoon.
 
The loss leaves John Jay on a three match losing streak as they fall to 1-3-0 on the season.
 
The opponent Brewers held an 18-4 advantage on shots and took seven corner kicks to three for the Bloodhounds.
 
Vassar College two goals in the first half and three in the second half en route to the five goal win. Juliano Pereira scored both of Vassar's first half goals, while Jordan Palmer had a goal and an assist in the second half. Rob Manukyan Andre Cousineau also scored goals for the Brewers.
 
John Jay's four shots included two from Korede Griffith and and one each from Brian Cassidy and Ganama Issouf.
 
Vitecha Kochaon allowed four goals and made three saves while playing in net for John Jay.
 
John Jay is back in action on Wednesday for a match against York College at 5 p.m. at Aviator Sports Complex.
