MASPETH, N.Y.— The John Jay women's soccer team earned its first winning streak of the season by cruising to an easy win on Saturday afternoon as the Bloodhounds defeated Polytechnic University of NYU 6-0 at the Metropolitan Oval.
The win improves John Jay's record to 2-2-0 this season, while Polytechnic falls to 1-2-0 overall.
Five of the six goals scored by the Bloodhounds came off the feet of two players, including three from second year star and reigning conference Rookie of the Year,

Samantha Guillen netted a pair, while adding a pair of assists in the runaway win.
John Jay scored two of its six goals in the first half. The Bloodhounds broke the scoreless tie midway through the twenty-second minute on a goal by Guillen. After her initial shot was stopped by her defender, Guillen rebounded the ball and put it to the far left of the net to put the Bloodhounds on top.
Then eleven minutes later, Louis scored her first of three goals on the day by taking control of a loose ball and sprinting past the Polytechnic defense for the score.
In the fifty-seventh minute, the Bloodhounds took control of the contest and pulled away further when
Emilia Kowalczyk blasted a shot from behind midfield. The ball took a large bounce before finding its way into the net over the hand of the Polytechnic goalkeeper.
Louis netted two more goals giving her five over the last two games, and Guillen added the last to complete the scoring.

Andrea Antoni also had a brilliant game. She posted her second shutout in as many games, while stopping seven shots, including two of which were just under the crossbar. She also contributed two assists in the games.
John Jay held a 16-10 advantage in shots, while Polytechnic attempted 13 corner kicks to just two for the Bloodhounds. John Jay was called for offsides 12 times to just once for the opponent.
Polytechnic had a good game out of Desiree Kettell who took seven shots, with six on goal.
John Jay returns to action on Wednesday September 12 against SUNY Purchase at 4 p.m.
