RESULTS
NEW YORK, N.Y.— The John Jay women's swimming team was defeated by Baruch College 61-29 in a match at the John Jay Pool on Friday evening.
With the loss, the Bloodhounds fall to 2-3 (2-2 CUNYAC) this season, while Baruch improves to 7-2 (4-0 CUNYAC).
The defending conference champion Bearcats took first place in each event before swimming the final events as exhibition.
John Jay scored second place finishes in several events, including the 200 yard individual medley where Vickie Hsieh was the runner up in 2:43.47, the 100 yard freestyle where Hsieh was second again in 1:05.23. The Bloodhounds also scored a second place finish in the 500 yard freestyle where
Vanessa Toro-Plaza finished in the place spot in 7:33.70.
John Jay returns to action on Tue. Jan. 15 at Hunter College at 6 p.m. After that, the Bloodhounds will embark on a four day winter training trip in San Juan, Puerto Rico from Wed. Jan. 16 through Sat. Jan. 19.
