#7 Women's Tennis Falls to #2 Brooklyn College In Quarterfinals

Box Score The #7 women's tennis team was defeated by #2 Brooklyn College, 5-1, on Sunday afternoon in the 2013 City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC)/Hospital For Special Surgery (HSS) Quarterfinals.

The Bloodhounds end their season with a 4-13 overall record and 1-6 conference record. The four victories are four times as many as the team had during the 2012 season.

Brooklyn advances to the semifinals where they will face the winner of the Baruch vs. Lehman quarterfinals match. 

John Jay got its lone win at number two doubles when sophomore Armine Kurkjian and freshman Gabriela Baez defeated Brooklyn's Suraya Maenhout and Norma Lynn Chabbott, 8-1. 

The winner of this year's championship will earn CUNYAC's automatic berth to the NCAA Championship Tournament scheduled for May 9-11, 2014.
