Men's Soccer Loses to Lehman College

Box Score The men's soccer team lost to Lehman College, 2-0, on Saturday afternoon in the Bronx. The Bloodhounds fall to 2-10-1 overall (2-3 in CUNYAC) for the season while the Lightning improve to 5-8 overall (2-3 in CUNYAC).

During the first half, the game was even with both teams having similar stats. The half was scoreless with the Bloodhounds outshooting the Lightning 9-6. Junior Vitecha Kochaon made two saves in the period and Alejandro Romero made four.

The first goal of the game came at the 69th minute mark as Lehman's Momar Thiam split through two defenders and found the back of the net. Ten minutes later, Jonathan Moallem scored the second goal of the game after he was awarded a free-kick just outside the box. That was all the Lightning needed as the Bloodhounds were held scoreless.

Freshman Gerardo Flores-Ramirez finished with a team-high four shots with three of them hitting the net. Junior Pablo Rojas registered two shots and Kochaon made six saves on the day.

Romero recorded the shutout with seven saves.

"Despite the score, I am happy with how the team played today," first-year head coach Nathan Bell said. "We need to continue working hard and start preparing for our game on Wednesday."

The Bloodhounds finish their road trip on Wednesday, October 9 when they face Kean University. The match is scheduled to be played at 4:30pm.
