Box Score The women's soccer team lost to Richard Stockton, 7-0, on Monday evening in Pomona, NJ. The Bloodhounds fall to 2-9 (1-2 in CUNYAC) on the season while the Ospreys improve to 10-5.
Richard Stockton opened the scoring three minutes into the game when Jessica Balnis scored on a shot from six yards out. Five minutes later, Balnis fed a pass to Amanda Magana who found the back of the net to give the Ospreys an early 2-0 lead. Richard Stockton added three more goals to close out the half up by five.
The second half was much like the first with the Ospreys controlling the ball. One minute in, Chelsea Abhau scored off a cross from the right corner. Richard Stockton would score one more to give them a 7-0 victory and double-digits wins (10) for the season.
Sophomore
Andrea Antoni finished the night with six saves. John Jay did not register a shot on goal.
Balnis, Magana, and Jacque Becker recorded two goals each for the Ospreys.
"Richard Stockton is a soccer powerhouse and we saw that tonight," head coach
Kamal Haruna said. "We need to put this game behind us and look forward to our upcoming schedule."
The Bloodhounds return to action on Saturday, October 12 when they face conference opponent Lehman College. The match will be played at Randall's Island and it is scheduled to start at 12:00pm.
