Women's Soccer Falls to SUNY Old Westbury

Box Score The women's soccer team fell to SUNY Old Westbury, 7-0, on Wednesday afternoon at Randall's Island. With the loss, the Bloodhounds drop to 2-10 (1-2 in CUNYAC) on the season while the Panthers improve to 8-5.

Old Westbury took an early lead when Stephanie Maybie ran by the Bloodhound defense and scored an unassisted goal. Maybie would go on to score the next two goals to give her a hat trick twenty-two minutes in and the Panthers a 3-0 lead.

The Panthers scored two more goals to end the half up by five. John Jay did not register a shot while sophomore Andrea Antoni made seven saves in the half.

In the second half, Joanna Kettell scored her second goal and Panther's sixth of the game. They would eventually add another to give them a 7-0 win.

Old Westbury finished with 40 shots while the Bloodhounds went shotless. Antoni made 21 saves for John Jay.

"Old Westbury has a very good team, especially their offense," head coach Kamal Haruna said. "Despite the score, playing these strong teams makes our team better at the end of the day."

The Bloodhounds will have their last home game of the season on Saturday, October 12 at 12pm. They will face Lehman College at Randall's Island.
