Box Score FARMINGDALE, N.Y.— The John Jay men's tennis team opened its season on Friday afternoon with a 7-2 loss at Farmingdale State.
 
At No. 1 singles, Erkut Cakmak picked up where he left off last season as he earned a win. He beat his opponent 6-2 in the first set, before falling 7-5 in the second set. But last year's John Jay male Athlete of the Year eared the win after his opponent was retired.
 
Cakmak and teammate Derrick Chung scored a win in doubles, coming away with a 9-7 victory at No. 1
