HOBOKEN, N.J.— The John Jay baseball team was defeated 15-0 at Stevens Institute of Technology on Saturday afternoon to fall to 0-4 on the season.
The Bloodhounds had six hits in the contest, all singles, and had a two hit game from leadoff hitter
Luca Altamirano who was 2-for-3. The Bloodhounds also got one hit each from
Eddie Montanez,
Esteban Soler,
Erik Pratz and
Daniel Alegria.
The host Ducks scored runs in each of the first six innings, including two in the first, one in the second, two in the third, three in the fourth, four in the fifth and three in the sixth to lead 15-0 after six innings.
Stevens registered 17 hits, including two each from Curt Lowenstein, Ryan Mannello, Dan Allen, Brian Hennelly, Tyler Bush and Jonathan Toro.
Braylin Perez suffered the loss for John Jay after going 3.0 innings and allowing eight runs (seven earned) on eight hits with five strikeouts.
John Jay returns to action on Sunday for a 1 p.m. game against Utica College at Fort Hamilton High School.
