CAMDEN, N.J.— The John Jay baseball team was defeated Rutgers-Camden University 15-3 on Tuesday afternoon.
The loss drops the Bloodhounds to 2-12 overall this season. Rutgers-Camden is now 15-8.
The host Scarlet Raptors put up 11 runs in the bottom of the first inning and four more in the bottom of the second to lead 15-0 after two innings.
John Jay scored a run in the third, one in the sixth and one in the seventh. An RBI single by
Billy Moran scored
Esteban Soler for John Jay's first run of the game. The Bloodhounds second run came when
Ronald Barillas hit a single to score
Ryan Corrigan. Then John Jay scored again in the seventh when
Luca Altamirano scored after a throwing error by Rutgers-Camden.
Lopez and Corrigan had two hits each for John Jay.
Braylin Perez suffered the loss after pitching one inning and allowing 11 runs.
