Baseball Falls to Stevens Institute of Technology

HOBOKEN, N.J.— The John Jay baseball team was defeated by Stevens Institute of Technology 16-4 on Friday evening.
 
The Bloodhounds had five hits on the evening and were led by Esteban Soler who was 2-for-4 with a pair of runs. Meanwhile Jose Fernandez, Ronald Barillas and Billy Moran had one hit each. Fernandez had three runs batted in for John Jay. He doubled in the sixth to score two runs, and grounded out in the eighth to score another runner.
 
Five Stevens players had multiple hits, including three players who had three hits each. Tyler Courter went 3-for-6 with two doubles, two runs and three runs batted in, while Dan Allen went 3-for-4 with two runs and two runs batted in. Michael Donovan went 3-for-5 with two doubles, two runs and three runs batted in.
 
Braylin Perez suffered the loss after going 5.1 innings and allowing nine runs on nine hits with five strikeouts.
