Box Score The John Jay men's soccer team was defeated in the season opener, 7-0, against the College of New Jersey at Ramapo College. The Bloodhounds start the season 0-1 while the Lions improve to 1-0.
The team comprised of seven freshmen, was outshot 19-4, however 75% of the Bloodhounds' shots were on goal. On the other side, the Lions shot 68% on goal with 13 shots.

Christian Munoz and
Yotam Bloom, and freshman
Alexis Bustillo each recorded a shot on goal while
Lujun Li had one shot. The College of New Jersey's Kevin Shaw led the way with a game-high 6 shots (5 shots on goal) and two goals. Greg Perri came off the bench to add a pair of goals on three shots.
Bloodhounds' senior
Steven Merino got the start in net and played over 72 minutes, recording five saves on eleven shots. He was later replaced by senior
Andrew Berman, who registered one save on two shots.
"The team had a difficult opening game against a disciplined TCNJ squad," first-year head coach Nathan Bell said. "We learned some valuable lessons about discipline defending toughness."
The Bloodhounds are back in action this weekend with games against Ramapo College on Saturday and a rematch against The College of New Jersey on Sunday.
