Women's Tennis Loses Close One to Lehman Lightning

Box Score The women's tennis lost a close match to Lehman College, 5-4, on Tuesday afternoon at the USTA National Tennis Center. The Bloodhounds drop to 1-7 (1-3 in CUNYAC) and the Lightning improve to 2-5 (1-1 in CUNYAC). 

John Jay took two of the three double matches when the tandems of Armine Kurkjian/Gabriella Baez and Precious Riddick/Natalie Cervantes won at #1 and #3, respectively. 

In singles play, Enida Morina and Natalie Cervantes both won their matches. Morina played at #4 and Cervantes at #5.  

"The girls played well tonight but it's tough to fall one short, "head coach Lauren Mallon said. "We will continue working hard in practice."

John Jay will now hit the road for a match on Thursday, September 26 at 4:00pm against Ramapo College.
