Women's Soccer Loses to Manhattanville College

Box Score The women's soccer team lost to Manhattanville College, 4-0, on Saturday afternoon at Govaliants.com Field. The Bloodhounds fall to 2-6 overall (1-1 in CUNYAC) while the Valiants improve to 3-7.

Manhattanville opened up the scoring in the 18th minute, when Dani Sullivan scored off a free kick. The rest of the half remained scoreless with the Valiants registering 11 shots. Sophomore Andrea Antoni made seven saves on eight shots.

Three minutes into the second half, Alina Callo scored on a shot from six yards out to give the Valiants a 2-0 lead. Later in the half, Quinn Nicolich added a pair of goals to give Manhattanville a 4-0 victory.

Freshman Jessica Monge recorded the only shot for the Bloodhounds. Antoni finished with 12 saves on the day. The Valiants were led by Nicolich, Sullivan (1 goal and 2 assists) and Kerri Durkin, who dished out two assists. Goalkeeper Dolores Diemicke picked up the shutout.

"Despite the final score, the girls played tough today and I am proud of them for that," head coach Kamal Haruna said. "We need to continue making strides in the right direction."

The Bloodhounds will return home on Monday, September 30 for a match against St. Joseph's College - Long Island. The match is scheduled to start at 4pm at Randall's Field 70.
