The women's basketball team defeated Farmingdale State College, 81-76, on Monday evening in Farmingdale, NY. The Bloodhounds improve to 8-14 overall (5-8 in CUNYAC) while the Rams fall to 11-8 on the season.Â
Farmingdale took an early lead but midway through the first half, John Jay tied the game. The Bloodhounds took their first lead towards the end of the half and led 30-28 going into halftime. The second half featured both teams exchanging baskets but the Bloodhounds were able to come away with the non-conference win.Â
Three Bloodhounds finished in double-digit points. Junior
Tyana Hale led the way with a team-high 22 points to go along with six rebounds, three assists, and one block. Senior
Jamecia Forsythe recorded a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds. She also had a game-high three blocks. Sophomore
Terri Chu registered 14 points and junior
Sherrice Marshall collected 12 rebounds. Junior
Amanda Jimenez dished out a team-high five assists and sophomore
Tamara Jones picked up 10 boards.
Farmingdale's Nicky Young recorded a game-high 24 points, eight rebounds, five assists, and three steals. Camille Romero registered 22 points, three steals, and three assists.
The Bloodhounds will return home to the Doghouse for a conference match with Medgar Evers on Wednesday, February 12, at 4pm.Â
