The women's basketball team was defeated by Brooklyn College, 67-43, in their final regular season game in Brooklyn, NY. The Bloodhounds finish with a 9-16 overall record and 6-10 record in the CUNY Athletic Conference. The Bulldogs end the season at 19-6 overall and 12-4 in the CUNYAC.
With the result of the game not having any impact on postseason seeding's, both teams were looking to head into playoffs with momentum. The game turned out to be a preview for the CUNYAC Quarterfinals matchup between the two teams this weekend.
Brooklyn outscored the Bloodhounds 44-20 in the first half to propel them to victory. Both teams scored 23 in the second half.
The Bloodhounds were led by senior
Jamecia Forsythe's game-high 17 points to go along with seven rebounds, one block, and one steal. Junior
Aneska Tejada and sophomore
Tamara Jones each recorded eight points and junior
Amanda Jimenez picked up seven boards. Junior's
Amber Villegas and
Tyana Hale dished out five and four assists, respectively. Hale also recorded a team-high two steals and one block.
Brooklyn's Nicole Francomano finished five rebounds shy of a triple-double with 10 points, 10 assists, and five rebounds. Megan Campbell registered a team-high 15 points, nine rebounds, three assists, and two steals.
The Bloodhounds will return to #3 Brooklyn College for a rematch in the CUNYAC Quarterfinals game on Sunday, February 23, at 1:00pm.
