The softball team swept a doubleheader from the College of New Rochelle, 13-2 and 15-0, on Tuesday afternoon in New Rochelle, NY. With the two wins, the Bloodhounds improve to 3-5 on the season and remain at 0-2 in the conference. The Blue Angels drop to 0-7 overall.
In game one, junior
Sara McKenna threw a complete game (five innings), allowing three hits, two runs, three walks, and struck out five. Senior
Lana Kovac, senior
Marlin Rallas, and junior
Jennifer Varela each collected one hit and two RBI's. Varela's hit was a home run, her second of the season.
Sophomore
Jamie Lam finished 2-for-2 with two RBI's and two runs scored. Junior
Jocelyn Ocasio collected two hits and two runs and junior
Jessica Zaccari added an RBI.
In game two, the Bloodhounds scored 15 runs in the first inning. Zaccari finished the game, going 4-for-4 with three RBI's and two runs scored. Senior
Kalyssa Daley, Kovac, and Varela recorded two hits each.
Freshman
Lisbet Lorenzo and junior
Ashley Diaz both came off the bench and picked up two-run singles. On the mound, Kovac threw a complete game two-hitter (five innings), striking out nine.Â
The Bloodhounds doubleheader against York College has been postponed. The next scheduled doubleheader is on Tuesday, April 1, at 5:00pm at Lehman College.
