Box Score 2 The baseball team lost a doubleheader to the College of Staten Island, 11-0 and 13-2, on Saturday afternoon in Staten Island, NY. The Bloodhounds drop to 3-16 on the year and 2-3 in the CUNY Athletic Conference. The Dolphins improve to 13-8 overall and 5-1 in CUNYAC.
In game one, Staten Island's starting pitcher Chris Falcone struck out nine of the first 10 Bloodhounds. The Dolphins scored a run in the first and second to lead 2-0 after two innings.
Offensively, the Bloodhounds were not able to get anything going against Falcone. John Jay recorded four hits in the game. CSI added three runs in the fourth, four runs in the fifth, and two runs in the sixth to win the first game by a score of 11-0.

R.J. Davila all picked up hits for the Bloodhounds. On the mound, senior
Nico Rivera pitched 4.2 innings, allowing four earned runs, and struck out four.
Falcone went the distance, allowing four hits, and striking out 12. Greg Manassa went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI's.
In game two, John Jay scored first as senior
Ronald Barillas led of the game reaching on a fielding error and stole second. He advanced to third on a wild pitch and would later score.
The Dolphins responded by tying it up in the bottom half of the inning. In the top of the second inning, sophomore
Nick Gioia singled home freshman
Jason Gonzalez to give John Jay a 2-1 lead.
In the bottom of the third, CSI scored three runs on three hits and three errors. Three innings later, the hosts increased their lead to 10-2. They would go on to take the conference sweep, 10-3.
Gioia went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Soler and Barillas registered a stolen base each. Despite the score, sophomore
Matthew Quirindongo had a solid start. He logged six innings, allowing 10 runs (none earned), and struck out three.
CSI's Mike Fitzpatrick threw a complete game to pick up the victory. Joe Palmeri finished 2-for-4 with an RBI.
The Bloodhounds will face St. Joseph's College - Brooklyn on Sunday, April 13, for a doubleheader starting at 12:00pm.
