Baseball Falls to Mount Saint Mary College

The baseball team lost to Mount Saint Mary College, 2-0, on Wednesday evening at Dutchess Stadium. The Bloodhounds fall to 1-12 overall while the Knights improve to 4-6.

Sophomore Matthew Quirindongo got the start for the Bloodhounds and threw a solid game. The Brooklyn native logged 5.1 innings, allowing two hits, two runs, five walks, and struck out three. Freshman Michael Wang and Charles Mendes and junior Michael Fabre pitched in relief and threw scoreless innings. 

Senior Ronald Barillas, sophomore Esteban Soler, and senior Corry Harper recorded John Jay's three lone hits. Soler also picked up his 13th stolen base of the season. 

The Knights used nine pitchers to throw a combined three-hitter and struck out 10. James Nakashian finished 2-for-4 with a run scored and stolen base. 

The Bloodhounds will head to Lehman College on Saturday, April 5, for a home double header starting at 12:00pm.
