Box Score 2 The baseball team lost to Stevens Tech, 12-2, on Wednesday afternoon at Randall's Island. The next day, the Bloodhounds fell to SUNY Purchase, 21-3, in Purchase, NY. John Jay is now 4-21 overall and 2-4 in the CUNY Athletic Conference.
In the loss to Stevens, the guests jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first inning. They increased their lead to four in the top of the third. They added a combined seven runs between the fifth and seventh innings. The Bloodhounds got on the board in the eighth inning when sophomore
Esteban Soler recorded a two-run double.
Junior
Noel Sanchez picked up a team-high two hits on the day and junior
Nestor Amarante, senior
Ronald Barillas, and Soler registered hits. Junior
Alex Depasquale got the start and threw five innings and struck out two.
In the contest against SUNY Purchase, the hosts scored in every inning except the second. John Jay recorded their runs via a two-run single by freshman
R.J. Davila and an error.
Sanchez finished the game going 3-for-4 with two runs scored. Senior

Joe Jacobsen, junior
Rafael Rodriguez, and Davila picked up hits. Sanchez and Jacobsen had two and one stolen base, respectively.
The Bloodhounds will host CCNY on Friday, April 25, for a doubleheader at MCU Park. First pitch is scheduled for 10am.
