Box Score 2 The softball team fell to Hunter College, 6-0. 7-0, on Sunday night at the CSI Softball Complex. John Jay is now 8-25 overall, at 4-8 in the CUNY Athletic Conference while the Hawks improve to 12-21 overall and 8-4 in the CUNY Athletic Conference.

In game one, the Hawks jumped out to an early lead on a two-run single by Sara Beck. They scored again in the 2nd and the 4th inning and would go on to win the game 6-0. The Bloodhounds were held to three hits off the bats of
Kalyssa Daley,
Danielle Minaya and
Sara McKenna.

McKenna went the distance for John Jay, giving up 6 runs (3 earned) on 11 hits, 3 walks and 2 strikeouts.

In game two, after a quiet first inning, the Hawks got on the board after a sacrifice fly by Erika Colangelo that scored Briana Lombardo, who lead off the inning with a double to right center. Hunter would go on to score again in the 5th and 6th inning making it a 7-0 ballgame.

With at least a hit per inning, the Bloodhounds threatened with runners on in every inning except the 6th inning as they failed to score leaving nine runners stranded for the game.

The Bloodhounds are in action again on Wednesday, April 30 at 4 p.m. in Staten Island. They will face Lehman College in the Play-In Game to earn a spot in the CUNY Athletic Conference softball tournament.
