Women's Soccer Secures Playoff Berth With Win Over Medgar Evers

The women's soccer team secured the fourth and final conference playoff seed after defeating Medgar Evers College, 10-0, on Wednesday afternoon at Randall's Island. The Bloodhounds improve to 3-9-2 overall and 2-2-2 in the CUNY Athletic Conference. The Cougars finish the season with a 0-14 overall record and 0-7 conference record.

Senior Katelyn Davis, junior Jessica Jean, and sophomore Alexis Castillo recorded two goals each for the Bloodhounds. Freshman May Dempsey registered a goal and assist and senior Andrea Antoni finished with one goal and two assists. Off the bench, freshman Cayleen Young picked up her first goal and assist of her career. Maria Daniela Campodonico Rugel notched three assists and sophomore Amy Samayoa recorded the other assist. 

John Jay outshot the Cougars 20-6. Sophomore Kelli Doherty picked up the shutout making two saves. 

The Bloodhounds will travel to Scranton, PA on Friday, October 30, for a non-conference match at 7:00 pm.
