The men's soccer team lost to the College of Staten Island, 1-0, in a close match on Wednesday afternoon at Randall's Island. The Bloodhounds are now eliminated from the CUNYAC postseason. John Jay ends the season with a 3-13-1 overall record and 2-5-1 conference record.
The first forty-five minutes were scoreless as CSI outshot the Bloodhounds, 11-4 in the half. Junior
Alexandros Taliotis made five saves.
Four minutes into the second half, the guests scored to take a 1-0 lead. Right after, the Bloodhounds intensified the pressure. John Jay's best chance came with 15 minutes remaining when freshman
Aly Jahin hit the crossbar. Unfortunately, John Jay could not find the back of the net in the remaining minutes.
Senior
James Matias finished with a team-high three shots on goal. Taliotis recorded 13 saves in the contest.
