The baseball team split with CCNY in their final conference doubleheader on Saturday night at Dutchess County Stadium in Wappinger Falls, NY. The Bloodhounds took game one, 5-1, before falling in game two, 7-1. John Jay ends the regular season with an overall record of 12-26 and CUNYAC record of 3-5. CCNY is now 5-32 and 2-6 in the conference.
In game one, the Beavers got on the scoreboard in the first inning to lead 1-0. The next three innings were scoreless but the Bloodhounds would tie the game in the bottom of the fifth. With sophomore

Esteban Soler on first with one out, sophomore
Zach Hyde delivered an RBI single to make it 1-1.Â
In John Jay's next frame, junior
Charlee Rodriguez led off with a double. With second and third and one out, Soler came through with an RBI single to give the Bloodhounds a one-run lead. Junior
R.J. Davila then scored on a wild pitch to give John Jay a 3-1 advantage. However, the Bloodhounds were not finished. With second and third, Hyde knocked in two runs with a two-run single to give John Jay a 5-1 lead.Â
That was all
Matthew Quirindongo needed as he threw a gem. The senior threw a complete game, allowing six hits, one run, three walks, and struck out eight to pick up his third win of the season. Hyde finished 2-for-3 with three RBI's and a stolen base. Freshman
Brandon Thomas went 2-for-3 with a run scored and a stolen base.Â
In game two, head coach
Joe Mandile got all the seniors in the game. CCNY scored five runs in the first five innings to lead 5-0. The Beavers would end up splitting the series after taking the second game, 7-1.Â

Dylan Laudano finished 1-for-3 with a run scored. Senior
Nick Gioia recorded a hit. In the top of the seventh with runners at first and second, senior
David Schildwachter pinch hit and delivered an RBI single. Senior
Matthew Oppedisano then reached on a fielder's choice and advanced to second on a stolen base. Freshmen
Jurrel Diaz and
Jonathan Warasila threw two innings each and allowed no earned runs.Â
