The men's soccer team cruised to their first win of the season, a 4-0 win over Green Mountain College on Saturday afternoon in Poultney, Vermont. The Bloodhounds improve to 1-1 on the season. The Eagles drop to 0-1 on the year.
Sophomore
Robert Lago opened up the scoring with 6:30 on the clock to give John Jay an early 1-0 lead. Eleven minutes later, freshman
Michael DeMarco notched his first collegiate goal on a pass by Lago. The Bloodhounds outshot Green Mountain 13-2 in the first half.
Lago added to his goal total when he scored his second of the game to increase the lead to 3-0. With two minutes remaining, junior
Steven Sanchez scored the Bloodhounds' fourth goal of the game on a pass from freshman Armin Sabovic.
Junior
Alexandros Taliotis recorded the shutout after making one save in the contest. John Jay finished with 34 shots, compared to the Eagles' three.
The Bloodhounds host St. Joseph's College Brooklyn on Wednesday, September 7, at 4:00 pm at Randall's Island Field 75.
