Schnadshteyn's Two Goals Pushes Men's Soccer to 2-0 Win over Baruch

The men's soccer team defeated Baruch College, 2-0, in a wild affair on Wednesday evening at Randall's Island. The Bloodhounds improve to 6-4 on the season and remain undefeated in CUNYAC play at 5-0. The Bearcats drop to 6-4 overall and 4-2 in the conference.

Freshman Mark Shnadshteyn scored in the 13th minute to give John Jay an early 1-0 lead. Freshman Nicholas Towler was credited with the assist. At the half, senior Alexandros Taliotis recorded one save. The Bloodhounds outshot Baruch by a margin of 4-3.

Approximately 20 minutes into the second period, freshman Rodrick Leighton crossed it to Shnadshteyn who found the back of the net for his second goal of the match. The forward now has 10 goals on the year. John Jay's defense and Taliotis made some big saves and clears to hold on for a 2-0 victory.

Taliotis collected his third shutout and sixth win of the season. Shnadshteyn finished with a team-high four shots and team-high three shots on goal.

John Jay is having its best season in program history with five straight conference wins to start the season.

The Bloodhounds visit Lehman College on Saturday, October 7, for a conference match at 1:30 pm.
