Women's Soccer Eliminated in CUNYAC Semifinals; Finish With Best Season in Program History

Box Score The #2 women's soccer team fell to #3 Lehman College, 2-0, on Wednesday afternoon at Randall's Island. The Bloodhounds finish the season with an 8-9-1 record. Their eight wins are the most in program history. The Lightning advance to the CUNYAC finals and will face #1 College of Staten Island. 

The first twenty-five minutes went back-and-forth as John Jay's defense played stellar. In the 27th minute, Lehman got on the scoreboard to hold a 1-0 advantage. The guests added to their lead six minutes later. 

At the half, the Lightning outshot John Jay by a margin of 7-1. Senior Kelli Doherty made five saves. 

The Bloodhounds intensified the pressure in the second half with three corner kicks. With 10 minutes remaining, freshman Kimbely Robledo hit the crossbar on a kick from freshman Audrey Kuhnle but Lehman would hold on for a 2-0 win. 

Doherty finished her career with 10 saves. Robledo recorded a team-high two shots on goal.
