Men's Soccer Loses to Lebanon Valley in ECAC First Round; Conclude with Best Season in Program History

Box Score The men's soccer team was eliminated from the ECAC Postseason Tournament when they lost to Lebanon Valley College, 3-0, on Saturday afternoon in the first round in Annville, PA. The Bloodhounds finish the season with an overall record of 9-8-1, their best in program history. 

The hosts controlled most of the play in the first half. Senior Alexandros Taliotis made two diving saves to keep Lebanon Valley off the scoreboard. John Jay was outshot by a margin of 10-1. 

Five minutes into the second half, Lebanon Valley scored the first goal of the match. They added two insurance goals in the next 12 minutes to lead 3-0. With 15 minutes left, the Bloodhounds had their best scoring chance when they rung one off the crossbar. John Jay finished with six shots in the second period. 

Taliotis made five saves. Freshman Mark Shnadshteyn registered a team-high three shots and John Jay's lone shot on goal. 

This match turned out to be the final one of Alexis BustilloCurtis HarbersJesus MerinoSteven SanchezBryant Silva, and Alexandros Taliotis' collegiate career. The Athletics Department wishes them the best of luck in the future!
