SJC took an early 6-0 lead but Perez converted on a three-point play to cut the deficit to three. The Bears followed on an 8-0 run and led 23-6 at the end of one. John Jay recorded the first five points of the second quarter as Perez made a jumper and Nicholson drained a three-pointer. However, SJC went into halftime with a 47-19 advantage.
The Bears outscored the Bloodhounds 12-5 in the third period but John Jay scored 12 points in the fourth compared to SJC's 11.
John Jay finished 12-for-58 (20.7%) from the floor, 4-for-22 (18.2%) from behind the arc, and 8-for-16 (50.0%) from the free-throw line.
The Bloodhounds return to the Doghouse for a four-game homestand. John Jay will host New York University on Saturday, November 25, at 1:00 pm at the Doghouse.
