Box Score The women's basketball team fell to St. Joseph's College Long Island, 72-46, on Tuesday night in Patchogue, NY. The Bloodhounds drop to 0-9 on the season. The Golden Eagles improve to 4-6.
Sophomore
Kaitlin Koehler picked up her first double-double of the season with 10 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Senior
Dana Nicholson recorded a team-high 13 points, seven boards, three assists, and a pair of steals. Junior
Christianne Perez came off the bench to register 12 points and freshman
Jessica Gorman grabbed 10 rebounds.
With the score tied at two apiece, SJCLI scored eight straight. A layup by Gorman cut the lead to six. At the end of the first, the Bloodhounds trailed 20-9. With the Golden Eagles up 29-13, Nicholson drained a three-pointer. At the half, the hosts held by a margin of 41-22.
SJCLI opened the third on a 10-0 run. With 3:26 remaining in the third, Koehler knocked down a three to cut the deficit to 54-27. The Bloodhounds outscored the Golden Eagles 16-10 in the final period.
John Jay went 16-for-59 (27.1%) from the field, 5-for-16 (31.3%) from behind the arc, and 9-for-20 (45.0%) from the free-throw line.
The Bloodhounds head into finals week and will return to the floor when they host Drew University on Saturday, December 30, at 1:00 pm at the Doghouse.
