The #6 women's basketball team lost to #3 College of Staten Island, 90-37, to conclude their season on Saturday afternoon in Staten Island, NY. The Bloodhounds finish the year with an overall record of 5-22.
Senior
Cassandra Taylor led the team in scoring with nine points and eight rebounds. Senior
Shaliyah Ruiz recorded seven points, five rebounds, dished out a team-high three assists, and had three steals. Freshman
Uju Nwaigwe grabbed a game-high 11 boards to go along with nine points. Junior
Dana Nicholson had six points and three steals and senior
Claire Prince registered six rebounds.
John Jay finished 12-for-61 (19.7%) from the floor, 5-for-28 (17.9%) from behind the arc, and 8-for-11 (72.7%) from the free throw line.
The Dolphins now advance to the CUNYAC semifinals on Tuesday, February 21, at CCNY.
