The baseball team defeated the University of Valley Forge, 26-5 and 24-1, on Tuesday afternoon in Phoenixville, PA. The Bloodhounds improve to 10-15 on the year. The Patriots drop to 7-21 overall.
In game one, junior
Zach Hyde went 5-for-5 with five runs and two RBI's. Junior
Brian Garcia finished 3-for-5 with three runs and an RBI. Sophomore
C.J. Meyer and seniors
R.J. Davila and
Charlee Rodriguez each had three RBI's. Sophomore
Brandon Thomas scored three times.
Freshman
Sean Napier recorded his second win of the season after throwing a complete game and striking out 10.
In game two, Garcia and Thomas picked up three runs, two hits, and two walks each. Hyde and Laudano both went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Meyer finished 2-for-4 with four RBI's and three runs. Locke came off the bench to register three hits. Napier and Davila added two hits and two runs scored.
Jared Hershfield picked up his first collegiate win of his career. The freshman threw a complete game, allowing five hits, one run, one walk, and struck out nine.
The Bloodhounds travel to Western Connecticut State on Thursday, April 20, for a non-conference single game at 5:00 pm.
