The softball team split with Baruch College on Friday afternoon in Staten Island, NY. The Bloodhounds fell in the first game, 11-2, before taking game two, 13-3. The Bloodhounds are now 6-19-1 overall and finish the season with a 6-6 conference record. The Bearcats are now 10-14 and finish 5-7 in CUNYAC.
In game one, John Jay scored first in the third inning when sophomore Inelza Salcedo crossed home plate on a wild pitch. Baruch responded in the fourth with five runs. In the bottom half of the inning, Salcedo recorded an RBI walk with the bases loaded to cut the deficit to 5-2. The Bearcats plated three runs each in the sixth and seventh innings.

Marissa Artz, and Salcedo all picked up hits. Junior
Lisa Pellegrino pitched a complete game and allowed three earned runs.
In the second game, Baruch jumped out to an early 3-0 advantage in the first. John Jay fought back to take a 6-3 lead after scoring six runs. Sophomore
Star Manzueta doubled in two runs, senior
Lisbet Lorenzo recorded an RBI single, and Salcedo ripped a two-run single.
John Jay broke open the game with four runs in the second. Barbaria, Manzueta, and freshman
Mariela Guzman had back-to-back-to-back RBI hits and later on in the inning, senior
Jennifer Pace registered a two-out RBI single to center field. In the fourth, Barbaria added an RBI single to score Pace and Manzueta blasted a two-out two-run double to left field.
Jacqueline Cuateco got the start in the circle and picked up her second win of the season. The sophomore pitched four innings, allowing four hits, three runs, and struck out two. Manzueta was 3-for-4 with three doubles, five RBI's, and two runs. Barbaria went 3-for-3 with two RBI's, and three runs scored. Guzman finished 2-for-3 with one RBI and two runs.

The Bloodhounds close out the regular season with their final non-conference doubleheader on Monday, May 1, at Old Westbury at 3:00 pm. #4 John Jay will then once again face off with #5 Baruch in the CUNYAC play-in game on Wednesday, May 3.
