Box Score The women's basketball team almost picked up their first win on Thursday evening but fell to Baruch College, 42-32. The Bloodhounds drop to 0-14 on the season and 0-5 in the CUNY Athletic Conference. The Bearcats improve to 3-8 and 3-3 in the conference.

Christianne Perez led the Bloodhounds with a team-high 10 points and six rebounds. Senior
Dana Nicholson scored nine points to go along with five rebounds. Sophomore
Kaitlin Koehler and freshman
Jessica Gorman combined for 28 rebounds, 10 points, two assists, and one steal. Freshman
Kayla Talbot grabbed eight boards.
With John Jay trailing 8-2, Nicholson drained a three-pointer to cut the deficit to three with 4:48 left in the opening quarter. Heading into the second period, Baruch led 11-6. Nicholson opened the second with another three but the Bearcats scored back-to-back baskets. At the half, the Bloodhounds trailed 19-11.
Down by 12 in the third, John Jay went on a 5-0 run to cut the deficit to seven. With 5:01 remaining, Baruch held a 28-20 advantage. The Bloodhounds scored five straight points and went into the final quarter trailing 32-27. A jumper by Koehler cut the lead down to three but the Bearcats ended the game on an 8-1 run.
John Jay went 9-for-53 (17.0%) from the field, 3-for-26 (11.5%) from behind the arc, and 11-for-17 (64.7%) from the free-throw line.
The Bloodhounds travel to Medgar Evers College on Saturday, January 13, for a conference game at 2:00 pm.
