Box Score The women's basketball team lost to Manhattanville College, 72-32, on Monday evening at the Doghouse. The Bloodhounds fall to 0-13 on the year. The Valiants improve to 10-1 overall.
Freshman
Jessica Gorman led all scorers with a game-high 16 points to go along with seven rebounds and three steals. Junior
Christianne Perez came off the bench to record six points, a team-high four steals, and two rebounds. Sophomore
Kaitlin Koehler grabbed a game-high nine boards and added two assists and a pair of steals. Senior
Dana Nicholson totaled six points and two assists.
Manhattanville jumped out to an early 8-0 lead but Nicholson drained a three-pointer to cut the deficit to five. Down by nine, Gorman made a three to trim the lead to 12-6. The guests ended the quarter on a 14-2 run. The Valiants scored the first 17 of 18 points in the second but Nicholson hit her second three-pointer of the night. At half, John Jay trailed 47-14.
Gorman scored the Bloodhounds' first basket in the third. Heading into the last quarter, Manhattanville held a 65-17 advantage. Gorman scored eight straight points and 11 overall for the Bloodhounds in the final period.
John Jay finished 11-for-51 (21.6%) from the floor, 4-for-20 (20.0%) from behind the arc, and 6-for-10 (60.0%) from the free-throw line.
The Bloodhounds travel to Baruch College on Thursday, January 11, for a conference match at 5:30 pm.
