The rifle team split a MAC match against Plattsburgh State on Saturday in Plattsburgh, NY. The Bloodhounds won in air rifle, 2220-2142, but fell in smallbore, 2053-1865. John Jay is now 2-0 in air and 1-1 in smallbore.
In the victory in air rifle, junior
Susana Sanchez finished with a match-high score of 576. Placing second overall was senior
Ida Sato with a 562. Sophomore
Michael Hyde finished right behind with a 562 and freshman
Izadora Zetola notched a 525.
In the smallbore discipline, Hyde led the way for John Jay with a match-high 533. Sanchez recorded a score of 519, good for second overall. Rounding out the top three was Sato with a 509.
The Bloodhounds travel to Yale University on Saturday, October 20.
