Box Score The women's tennis team defeated St. Joseph's College Brooklyn, 8-1, in the regular season finale on Tuesday night at the USTA National Tennis Center in Flushing, NY. The Bloodhounds end the regular season with an overall record of 8-4. The Bears drop to 2-9.
John Jay swept all three doubles matches. At the top spot, sophomore
Gabrielle Schuck and freshman
Mariana Rodriguez won, 8-5. No. 2, junior
Angelica Lozano and sophomore
Cristina Peralta, and No. 3, freshmen
Briana Schmidt and
Kellie Murtha, all came out on top 8-0.
Junior
Leslie Betancur topped her opponent 6-0 at six singles. Rodriguez, Schuck, Schmidt, and Murtha all picked up victories.
Before the match, the Athletics Department honored senior
Leslie Betancur as part of Senior Day.
