The rifle team opened up their 2018-19 season at the University of Akron on Saturday afternoon in Akron, Ohio. The Bloodhounds finished with a 2246 in air rifle and 2106 in smallbore. John Jay swept Canisius in both air rifle and smallbore but fell to Akron in both disciplines.
In smallbore, junior
Eliza Kotowska led the way with a team-high score of 536. Finishing in second place was junior
Susana Sanchez with a 527. Rounding out the top four were sophomore
Michael Hyde (525) and senior
Ida Sato (518).
In air rifle, Sato was John Jay's top finisher with a team-high 569. Sanchez was one point behind Sato with a score of 568. Kotowska finished in third with a 564 and Hyde registered a 545.
The Bloodhounds travel to Plattsburgh State on Friday, October 13.
